When history and nature go hand in hand
Explore the greenways, 160 km of old disused railway sections that have become unique ecological trails, which cross over up to five regions, linking the sea and the mountains with paths full of life, and offering a unique experience. From Ripoll to Sant Feliu de Guíxols, passing by Girona, history and nature go hand in hand, inviting us to rediscover the land with respect and admiration, on foot or by bike.
Other routes that allow you to go from the Pyrenees to the sea on foot, in an easy, pleasant and safe way, crossing municipalities and natural spaces with legacies of ancient civilisations, are the Way of Saint James and the Ter Route. There is also the trail network Itinerànnia, that showcases the natural and cultural assets of the territory. It includes more than 3,000 kilometres that allow you to go from the Pyrenees to the sea on foot, in an easy, pleasant and safe way, crossing municipalities and natural spaces with legacies of ancient civilisations.

Routes that take you to the summit
But if what motivates you most is to grab your equipment and enjoy the authentic Pyrenean hiking experience, there are 25 peaks of more than 2,500 metres for you to climb. Routes such as Els Bastions (105 km), the Refugis del Torb (73 km), the Estanys Amagats Route (73 km), the Serra de Monestirs (65 km), Els Tres Refugis (52 km) and the Marxa del Parc (35 km), can be a moment to enjoy time with your travelling companions and with everyone else you will meet along the way. Walk together and observe the silence of nightfall from a mountain hut or take the final footsteps to the summit. These are things that have to be experienced first hand at some point in your life.
And if you would like to do a route in stages but at a lower altitude, you can follow the GR92 along the sea with the Cotlliure-Cadaqués route (72 km). So, lace up your boots, grab your rucksack and set out on the route along the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees, without having to choose between the sea or the mountains. Here, both options are available to everyone, from amateurs to the most experienced hikers.
