Visit Palafrugell

From January to March, in the waning season and when the sea is calm, the town of Palafrugell invites you to celebrate La Garoinada. An experience for all the senses, with sea urchin as the star product.

If you haven’t tried it yet, get ready to eat a little piece of sea! With an intense flavor and soft texture, the garoina or sea urchin, is a typical product of the rocky Mediterranean coast, which is obtained during the winter until early spring. The restaurants along with the accommodations offer different formulas to come to spend a weekend of Garoinada in Palafrugell that include the menu and accommodation in one of the hotels in the municipality.

In addition, with the different formulas are given:

-Ticket book of tickets that allow you to visit the different cultural spaces of the municipality (Josep Pla Foundation, Vila Casas Can Mario Foundation, Cork Museum of Catalonia and Botanical Garden of Cap Roig).

-Ticket for the municipal swimming pool of Palafrugell.

-Discount voucher to buy at Vins i Licors Grau, sponsor of the campaign.

The Garoinada menu, which changes every edition, consists of a starter of garoines, a main course of “Catxoflino” or an alternative dish, and a dessert of bread with chocolate. All accompanied by water, wine from Bodega Espelt del Empordà and coffees.

Who participates?

-The restaurants: L’Arc, Xadó (from Palafrugell), el Balcó de Calella, el Càntir, les Voltes de Calella (from Calella de Palafrugell), el Far, la Llagosta, Llafranc Cal Gitano and Terrassa Terramar (from Llafranc) and Es Portió (from Tamariu).

-The hotels: Can Liret (Palafrugell), Alga (Calella), El Far and Llafranc (Llafranc).
