Salt is a municipality bathed by the Ter, situated very close to the city of Girona. The river is the beating heart of the municipality, its agriculture, its industry in bygone days, its people and its landscape. Make sure you pay a visit to Deveses park. Along the various signposted routes you may come across a variety of wildlife including otters, Spanish pond turtles, ospreys and dragonflies. Back in the town, rest your feet in one of the squares in the old quarter. In Plaça de la Vila, you’ll find more otters, but these ones have been sculpted by local artist Lluís Mateu i Riera.
