The municipality of Tortellà, protected by the waters of the Juiàs stream (to the east) and the Llierca river (to the west) is one of the gateways to Alta Garrotxa. It’s a crossing route from the valley to the scarps and mountain ranges. The imposing dome of the church of Santa Maria welcomes you in the town square. From there, wherever you look there are places to discover. You can start with the bridge of Llierca, an impressive feat of mediaeval engineering that is still standing. From here, you can head to any number of beauty spots in the heart of nature.
