You could sum up Roses as a Mediterranean seaside tourist town on the northern Costa Brava but that would not do justice to its seemingly endless list of charms: from watching the sun set over the sea from one of its beaches and discovering the historical legacy of the Ciutadella archaeological site, to enjoying all kinds of sports, both on and off the water, savouring a tasty fish stew or excellent rice dish, or experiencing local traditions, such as Carnival, the havaneres (sea shanty) concerts or Sardana dances… this town has it all.
