Pontós is a peaceful town in Alt Empordà, set in a small valley between the Fluvià and Muga rivers. The town contains some examples of religious architecture that make it well worth a visit, such as the chapel of Santa Anna, the parish church of Sant Martí or the church of Sant Mer and Sant Celdoni. You also have the chance to explore Mas Castellar, a superb archaeological site where several objects have been unearthed dating back to a period stretching from the 6th to the 2nd century BC, an Iberian settlement and a Roman town.
