In the heart of the Empordà plain, very close to Figueres, there’s a little town called El Far d’Empordà. The unassuming, simple and quiet nature of the town is embodied in one of its most prominent treasures: the Romanesque church of Sant Martí del Far. It’s said that it formed part of the old castle, set atop a hill, at a time when the town was called Farus.
