Vallfogona de Ripollès is one of those rural towns that preserve the magic and charm of mediaeval villages. The Muralla gateway, the only one that remains standing of the three original gateways, leads into the old town with its cobbled streets, houses with ancient thresholds and the town square, right next to Sala castle and the Pòpul bell tower. Leaving the town, just cross the mediaeval bridge and you will find yourself in a world of nature: the Tosca spring, the Masica pools and waterfalls, the vantage point of Estela hill and, a little further afield, the remains of Milany castle.
