The town of Pals keeps alive one of its oldest customs with the traditional rice planting. This festival allows visitors to relive the ancestral process of planting rice by hand in the fields of the municipality, just as it was done centuries ago. With the participation of rice professionals dressed in traditional clothing and demonstrations of old trades, this experience is an authentic immersion into the agricultural culture of the area. Not only that, the day is rounded off with family activities, gastronomic tastings and live music, making this journey back in time a unique experience.
Festa de la llana a Ripoll
We continue our journey through time and stop off in Ripoll, where spring brings one of the most unique celebrations in the Girona Pyrenees: the National Wool Festival and the Rural Wedding. This event recreates the ancient livestock farming traditions of the region, with live demonstrations of sheep shearing and the handmade production of wool products. One of the most eagerly awaited moments is the recreation of a traditional rural wedding, between the heir and the heiress of two farmhouses, with period costumes, music and folk dances. This festival is a unique opportunity to experience the rural life of the past in a spectacular setting.
