Are you a fan of wine and improvising? Discover eight irresistible wine bars along the DO Empordà Wine Route where you can raise a glass and enjoy the scenery. A perfect plan to savour the Empordà with a drink and at your own pace.
Some toasts are never forgotten. Those little spurs of the moment, as you wander aimlessly or decide to take a break in the middle of your trip. The best way to find these moments in the Empordà is to stroll through the wine bars of the Empordà DO Wine Route: small oases where the landscape, wine and conversation are in perfect harmony.
In most cases, you don’t have to go on a guided tour, though you can, or book ahead. You just need to be willing to try it and let yourself loose. Take a break to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine served next to the vineyard, artisan cheeses and local cured meats, open spaces where the sunsets taste of wine barrels, grenache and the local tramontane mountain breeze. We suggest eight can’t-miss wine bars. Each site has its own personality, but they all share the same promise: you can experience the Empordà in slow sips.
