Carretera Gaserans, 17451 Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, Espanya
One of the most majestic Gothic castles in Catalonia is located in the municipality of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, in the Selva region. This is Montsoriu Castle, which stands on the top of the hill at the feet of the Montseny Natural Park, just before the Guilleries Massif. A two and a half kilometre excursion will take you to this mediaeval site. Crossing its walls is like stepping back more than 500 years in time. If you wish to continue travelling back in time, at Can Perxistor farmhouse, you will find the monument to the historic fratricide: the assassination of the Count of Barcelona, Ramon Berenguer II, by his brother Berenguer Ramon.
