Located on the left-hand side of Pescadors beach, where you will find the port, En Goixa beach is also known as the ‘beach of the dead’. The explanation for the strange name is simply that when the neighbouring town of Portbou didn’t have a cemetery of its own, the people who died there were taken to be buried in the cemetery at Colera and they arrived by sea, landing on this beach. At the foot of the cliffs, it is now one of the most visited beaches in Colera. Composed of shingle, it is about 350 metres long. It is worth visiting the sculptural collection of the Art Park, by the artist Joan Padern, located just a few metres away. It is also not far away from all the services found on the promenade. Finding parking in Colera is quite easy.
