Sant Feliu de Guíxols is an essential stop for any visit to Baix Empordà. The Benedictine monastery with its Porta Ferrada is one of the town’s main symbols. But so are its beaches and coves that carve out a path between the cliffs (we recommend: Cala Canyerets, Port Salvi and Sant Pol), the coastal paths, the narrow-gauge railway route, the excursion to Pedralta, the Via Ferrata by the sea… the options are endless. And if you decide to come in the summer, make the most of the many nautical activities on offer, as well as checking out the Porta Ferrada Festival which offers an eclectic mix of music, theatre and dance.
