Nice stage that gets us into the fertile alluvial plain of Baix Empordà. We walk between fields of fruit and fodder and climb the small hill of Puig de la Font Pasquala, which shows one of the best views in the area. Visit charming villages such as Gualta, Palau-Sator and Pals, that take us to the Middle Age. Another attraction in this stage are the rice fields, that have created a unique wet ecosystem rich in biodiversity. Pals Rice has its own designation of origin and has activated the local economy. To find out for ourselves, we can stop in Pals and taste a rice dish with Empordà wine. Do not eat too much though since we will need to climb the final stretch to Begur, in Serralada Litoral, to sleep in one of the villages with most character in the region.
