Epic fifth stage of Girona GR 83 that links Olot with Beget, a town administratively located in the eastern end of Ripollés but geographically immersed in the Alta Garrotxa. We closed the Garrotxa area with a much wilder and remote face, with abrupt and broken landscapes like the wild gorge of the Bodelquer, perhaps one of the most captivating places of the whole GR 83. In the previous section the painter Joaquim Vayreda transmitted the more gentle magic of the Garrotxa. His brother Marià was able to extract the essence of this land, shown especially in his work “La punyalada” (the stab), which takes place in places very close to the ones on this route. We expect two hills that will demand a workout: Passa-serres, which connects the valleys of Fluvià and Bianya with the Bac valley. We will walk very close to the Serra de Malforat and the hill of Salomó, which links the Bac valley and the stream of Oix with the valleys of Salarsa and Beget. A stage to enjoy and remember!
