Inaugural stage of the GR-83 or “Camí del Nord” in the sector of Girona. This stage takes us from the nucleus of Riells i Viabrea, in the region of La Selva and the border with the Vallés Oriental, to the beautiful village of Arbúcies, nestled within the Natural Park of Montseny and gateway to the legendary Guilleries. During the route we will enjoy the peaceful Sant Llop stream as well as the Mediterranean forest of Les Agudes. Near the castle of Montsoriu we will move through a shady area where the chestnut trees dominate the more continental forests and finally introduce us to the “humid” Catalonia. The charm of the place of Riells and the Torrent of Torroella will help us with the ascent to the house of Sant Climent, from where we will descend, between chestnut trees, holm oaks and fields, to Arbúcies.
