Stage that allows us to travel the main volcanic space of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. During this fifth stage of the GR 2 trail we will leave behind the medieval village of Santa Pau and visit the volcanic zone of La Garrotxa, passing through the main volcanic cones: Santa Margarita volcano, Croscat volcano, Roca Negra, Puig Jordà and Racó, where we will observe several claypits in which layers of ashes and scoria of different eruptive phases alternate. We will visit the unique Fageda d'en Jordà and visit the small Romanesque churches of Corb, on the northern slope of the Corb mountain range, to reach the village of Les Preses, in the Vall de Bas.
