A fairly long stage that is characterized by passing from the Mediterranean climate and landscape Garrotxa to the more humid and volcanic landscape Garrotxa. During this fourth stage of the long footpath GR 2, we will leave Besalú behind and cross the Torn mountain range, covered with a luxuriant Mediterranean oak gove, to descend towards the Ser river valley and the small village of Sant Andreu del Torn. From here we will follow the course of the river Ser upstream, passing by the village of Sant Vicenç de Sallent and the spectacular waterfall of Can Batlle, to end up entering volcanic soil and to arrive between croplands and forests to the walled village of Santa Pau, inside of La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park.
