We set out along the GIV5221 road towards Oix, where we begin the steep climb to Beget mountain pass. After a few kilometres we reach the pretty village of Beget and the church of Sant Cristòfol, a Pre-Pyrenean Romanesque treasure built in the 10th century. From here we begin our ascent to Rocabruna pass. Once over the pass, we head towards Camprodon, first taking the GIV-5223 and then the C38. At Camprodon we take the GIV-5264 towards Setcases. Here we begin the impressive climb to Vallter, the highest point in Catalonia that can be reached by asphalted road. Once we reach Vallter, we go back down the same road which, in a dizzying descent, takes us to Camprodon. There we follow the C38 to Sant Pau de Segúries. We then take the C135a and, after passing through Capsacosta pass, we begin our long descent to Olot and Castellfollit de la Roca, the route’s start and finish point.
