Sant Joan de Mollet is a small municipality in Gironès with a flat, gentle landscape covering just 3.28 km2. It stands on a hill just 50 metres high, watched over by the church of Sant Joan and its bell tower with a single bell. The present-day church was built on the site of a Romanesque temple. As the plaque at the church entrance states, the construction of the new church was made possible by the town’s residents, who collaborated in the building work Sunday after Sunday.
