The municipality of Jafre in Baix Empordà is bathed by the waters of the Ter river, while the town itself is set on the crest of a hill. If walking is your thing, you can go for long walks next to the river as far as the Avall fluvial island, formed by the capricious course of the water. If you feel like hopping on your bike, you can pedal along a stretch of the Ter Route, winding your way between the fields and forests of the municipality. And if you’re feeling curious you can find out about the legend of the sanctuary of La Fontsanta, from which water with miraculous properties spouted, according to the locals. Take a sip, you never know! If you’d prefer a beer to a glass of water, the town holds its Beer Fair in July.
