Plaça de la República, 2, Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Espanya
Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l’Heura is the largest municipal district in Baix Empordà. You can easily fill any number of days with the activities on offer in the three towns that give the municipality its name. In Cruïlles, the Benedictine monastery of Sant Miquel awaits you, along with two towers that dominate the town’s skyline: the Romanesque tower of the ancient castle and the bell tower of Santa Eulàlia. In Monells, park the car and wander along the streets that lead you to Plaça Jaume I, a lovely arcaded square. Meanwhile, in Sant Sadurní de l’Heura, don’t miss the church of Sant Genís and the chapel of Sant Joan de Salelles. And if you’ve still got time, head to the mountains where the Arques peak awaits you. At 535 metres, this is the highest point of the Gavarres massif. Are you ready for the climb?
