Lladó is a sleepy town in Alt Empordà where a Roman town probably once stood. Having gone under many names (Lucduno, Lodone, Ledone and Letonis, among others), present-day Lladó retains some architectural treasures, such as the ancient monastery of Santa Maria, declared a Cultural Site of National Interest. Mountain biking is a great way to discover the scenic charms of the municipality, along the popular Salines Bassegoda route that passes through the town.
