Life in Colomers, the smallest town in Baix Empordà, is intertwined with the Ter river. A few kilometres before it reaches the sea, an old lock alters the course of river, diverting it to a series of irrigation channels that water the cropland of the municipal district. Over time, a small reservoir has been created next to the lock that has become one of the prettiest places in the area. Hop on your bike and pedal alongside the Ter river on one of the final stretches of the water paths route. Back in the town, park your bike and wander through the steep, narrow and winding streets of the old quarter, which will lead you to the church of Santa Maria and its imposing tower.
