Plaça de la Vila, 1, 17160 Anglès, Espanya
The origin of Anglès is a mediaeval castle, although all that is left of the ancient fortification is a small fragment of the wall. The façades, the doors and the windows of the buildings in the street Carrer Major and the arcades that stretch across the street Carrer d’Avall are part of the architectural and artistic heritage that you will find in the Gothic centre of the village. It is also worthwhile climbing up to Santa Bàrbara Sanctuary, at the feet of the Guilleries mountains, from where you will be able to enjoy magnificent views of the Selva, Gironès and Empordà regions as well as of the Mediterranean.
