Vilafant retains the typical charm of the rural towns of Alt Empordà. The municipality is set in a gentle landscape of low hills bathed by the Manol river, but touched by the first elevations of the Pyrenees. Stroll among the large medieval farmhouses that still stand in the fertile riverbank area. And pay a visit to the little town of Palol Sabaldòria, a hilltop architectural complex composed of the pre-Romanesque church of Sant Miquel and the remains of the ancient castle. All of this is located next to a cliff that overlooks the Manol, offering a wonderful panoramic view.
