The countdown to the summer holidays is getting shorter every day. There isn't a better time to start enjoying the wines made by Empordà's wineries. Enjoy them on a terrace on the Costa Brava. Fancy meeting for a drink?
Wine bars with terraces that you’ll fall in love with

A small pleasure that the Costa Brava offers us is being able to enjoy a good wine while looking at the sea. The aromas of the Empordà wines pair with the sea breeze, creating a picture-perfect moment. La Barbería in Palamós is an ideal place for some wine tasting. It is a family business that is committed to local products and which is located right in front of the marina with incredible interior design. If you feel like it later on, enjoy the last swim of the day, just as the sun goes down. There is no better time.
miraGE
A little further north, in the picturesque town of Sant Pere Pescador, we find the miraGe by Mas Gusó, an explosion of sensations for your senses and a space for appreciating wine, which also has a cocktail bar and is open to all tastes and levels of experience. Here, you can enjoy some great live music while tasting your favourite wine on an idyllic terrace.
Also on the seashore, in Cadaqués we find the Enoteca MF, where you can eat and drink on Es Poal beach. Do you need any more encouragement? It is a dream come true, where you can taste the wines of the Martin Faixó winery with some bluefin tuna, among other local specialities.
If you are more of a land lover than a sea lover, we have an option that will make you feel like a character out of a book. Vulpilius is located in Vulpellac, one of the most charming medieval towns in the province of Girona, and has a terrace where you can try 0 km products which are entirely from the Empordà, as well as a large selection of wines, sparkling wines, spirits and craft beers. To help your digestion, we recommend that you take a walk through the old town and let yourself be dazzled by its beauty: in 2009 it was declared by the General Directorate of Heritage of the Government of Catalonia as a cultural asset of national interest (BCIN) in the category of historical complex.
Without abandoning the medieval style, in Calonge you will find the Tap Blau, a cosy gastronomic wine bar located in the heart of the town where you can enjoy a good Empordà wine and pair it with delicious Catalan sausages and cheeses. When you finish, be sure to visit the bookshops from Calonge Poble de Llibres, and discover why this charming place is the first booktown of Catalonia.
To try and take home with you
Terraces are always a great option, but if you prefer a good wine at home, alone or in the company of friends, your partner or your pet, while listening to a great soundtrack because you have spent the day doing tourism or at the beach, you can always do a wine tasting in one of the shops and then buy some local products.
Abricoc
Therefore, if you are doing some inland tourism in Baix Empordà, you can visit places like Abricoc in Fonteta (located in the Gavarres massif). This is a beautiful gourmet shop that organises tastings and has a cheese board which will drive you wild.
And if you are sunbathing on the beach, be sure to visit Vins i Licors Grau in Palafrugell, the largest wine shop in Europe with professional sommeliers who give you advice so that you find the wine you need for your evening.
El Parral
If, on the other hand, you are in the north, perhaps you will visit some of the emblematic towns of Catalonia such as Peralada, where you can stop by the agrowinery El Parral, located in Capmany. It is a “must” on the Empordà wine tourism route where you can also enjoy a fine vermouth on the terrace.
And finally, if you have not been able to organise a visit to a winery and you have stayed at home, you can always go to a Wine Palace. It is a very practical option, because they work directly with most wineries and they are shops which are specialised in the sale of wines, beers, spirits and gourmet delicatessen products that will help you to enjoy the experience to the fullest. You will almost certainly have one very close to your accommodation, because they have establishments in 15 different points on the Costa Brava. Bon appétit!
