This is the main beach of Tossa de Mar. The silhouette of Cape Tossa and the walled fortifications of the old town at the southern end make this one of the most recognisable beaches. It is worth visiting just for these views. Not surprisingly, the National Geographic magazine ranked this beach among the 25 best beaches in the world in the 2013 classification. Crescent-shaped and 400 metres in length, the expanse of sand also stands out for its width, which accommodates swimmers, services and room for the small boats drawn up upon the beach. Although in summer parking close by is no easy task, it is worth it. The bus station is a 10-minute walk away. The promenade connects the whole of this expanse of beach and provides access to the old town. It has been awarded a blue flag.Significant depth within a few metres of the shoreline
